If the division is inexact, the resulting quotient is the integer of lesser magnitude that is the nearest to the algebraic quotient. If the result cannot be represented, the behavior is undefined; oth- erwise, quot*denom+remshall equalnumer.RETURNVALUEThediv() function shall return a structure of typediv_t, comprising both the quotient and the remainder. The structure includes the following members, in any order:intquot;/*quotient*/intrem;/*remainder*/ERRORSNo errors are defined.Thefollowingsectionsareinformative.EXAMPLESNone.APPLICATIONUSAGENone.RATIONALENone.FUTUREDIRECTIONSNone.SEEALSOldiv(), the Base Definitions volume of IEEE Std 1003.1-2001,<stdlib.h>COPYRIGHTPortions of this text are reprinted and reproduced in electronic form from IEEE Std 1003.1, 2003 Edition, Stan- dard for Information Technology -- Portable Operating System Interface (POSIX), The Open Group Base Specifica- tions Issue 6, Copyright (C) 2001-2003 by the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers, Inc and The Open Group.
